A Turkey-based company operating in the energy sector is developing new products, services, and business models to help industrial companies transition to hydrogen energy production. This project aims to develop new business models around green hydrogen and electrolyzers, enabling industrial companies in Turkey to reduce their carbon footprint and avoid being negatively impacted by carbon taxes imposed by the European Union.
Hydrogen is produced by breaking down water into its components by applying electricity. This method, called electrolysis, is used with energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind energy, and the resulting hydrogen is called "green hydrogen." Hydrogen plays a critical role in many sectors. Hydrogen has a wide range of uses, from ammonia fertilizer production and oil refineries to the production of stainless steel and other metals and glass. However, the recent proliferation of hydrogen fuel cells in electric vehicles, which has become a significant alternative, has made hydrogen a critical technology for the automotive sector. Similarly, research on the use of hydrogen in aircraft is rapidly progressing. The use of hydrogen offers a significant advantage for many sectors seeking to achieve their "zero emissions" goals.
